Kevin Hayes was a close friend who worked with me at Harlem Children’s Zone. We connected right away, both through the work we were doing in Harlem and as fathers raising sons around the same age. That connection quickly grew beyond work and extended to our sons and our families.
Kevin, known simply as “Chef,” was loved throughout Harlem. His personality could light up any room, and his infectious laugh seemed to never end. He had a way of bringing people together and making everyone around him feel welcome. Kevin’s presence went far beyond the work he did. Putnam Family Headstone
10/9/21: it's CARV'd was honored to hand-carve the headstone for my closest friend of 23 years whose mother had recently passed. It’s my first headstone and really pushed my creativity. Ms. Putnam was a loving mother and an artist with an undeniable quirkiness, who’s favorite flower was Queens Ann Lace Wildflower. I know she’d love this remembrance. Raymond's son Steve, who also worked as a stone mason, had an idea for a bluestone headstone with roses carved into it to symbolize the last name Rose.

If I could carve a stone for every person on the planet, I would. I got to present a beautiful hand carved memorial stone, honoring the life of José and Elsie Sosa. José was an avid fisherman, who always wore his bucket hat when out on the lake. His favorite animal was the turtle. Elsie was a mother and wife, who always dressed in the finest jewelry and was the center of attention in every room she walked into. She also wrote a play in her lifetime. Gilded in sterling silver and 24 karat gold, José, and Elsie will always be with their family. Each carving comes with a highly detailed and personalized photography book of the entire carving process from inception to completion.

This hand-carved letter stone is a present for a handyman that knows how to fix anything. WWCBD stands for "What Would CB Do?" When Teresa was remodeling her home, CB was her handyman for everything that needed to be repaired. He was so knowledgeable that Teresa would just ask herself, "What would CB do?" if she had a question or problem home related.

No matter the occasion, the sweet alpacas are the perfect Hudson Valley addition to picture-perfect photo sessions. Because of this, Kwoka Farm hosts family-friendly photo packages for the holidays, weddings, bar mitzvahs, and everything in-between. it's CARV'd has the honor of carving the Kwoka Farm identifying sign, which is displayed in front of the farm.

The sharp, thin lettering was extremely difficult to do, but the reward is an amazingly detailed and sharp carving. Carved in beautiful purple slate with grey specks and combined with a book of the actual carving progression, it's CARV'd is making artistic visions and dreams into a reality. |

10 Year Wedding Anniversary

4/24/21: Beautiful hand carved 10 year wedding anniversary stone. Our client wanted to surprise his wife on their 10 year anniversary with a garden stone. He wanted a hydrangea in the middle, as that was the bouquet flower on their wedding day. ASM inscribed in his ring and RMW is inscribed in her ring. Such a beautiful and thoughtful idea. The stone includes a beautiful photo book of the entire carving process to cherish and make their one of a kind stone even more unique.
