Commission a Slate Carving

How to commission a piece? Commissioning a carving with it's CARV'd can be an emotional experience. Whether it's a headstone, an anniversary memory, or a pet memorial, the story you want told is vital. Sharing your story is crucial to begin the process of creating your piece. Equally as important is me listening. Please tell me your story, so that I can bring that story to life in stone, that will last generations.

The first step is to discuss your ideas and aspirations in the piece you want designed.
I listen to your story and then we discuss your ideas together over the phone or via a Zoom meeting. Then a sketch is made of your idea.
The second step is for you to approve and finalize a sketch and the style and size of stone.
Third step is to patiently wait as your stone is carved by hand with your aspirations constantly in mind.

Once the sketch is approved and the stone picked by you, a deposit is made to hold your place in my carving que. Your carving should take anywhere from a month to two months depending on letters, complexity and size of stone. Do you want a memory to last a lifetime? I will take your child's drawing and carve it into slate for you. A perfect garden stone, as an everlasting reminder of your child's artistic curiosity as they grow up. All you have to do is email me a photo of your child's doodle, and I will transfer the photo to a stone of your choice and begin the process of memorializing your child's artistic talent.
